5, The Three Kings. Cabalgata de Reyes por las calles más céntricas
de la ciudad. Esta noche los Tres Reyes dejan los regalos a los más
pequeños, y a algunos un poco más mayores.
On 5th of January takes place, as in many Spanish towns, the procession
of the Three Kings.
6, Three Kings Day. Shops are closed.
17, San Antón. En la calle de Hortaleza un pequeño zoológico
espera la bendición. Miles de madrileños llevan sus mascotas,
animales de compañía o amigos más fieles, tradicionalmente
a esta iglesia para ser bendecidos.

San Isidro Labrador festivities.
San Isidro on May 15th, to the honour of Madrid's patron, one of the biggest
events in all the year with concerts, exhibitions, bullfighting, and other
kinds of public performances. Fireworks at Jardines de las Vistillas.

included cultural events, theater at the "Muralla Arabe", the
Music Festival at the Conde Duque, cinema at the parks.
AUGUST:
6 - 15, Festival Verbena de la Paloma, that shows the popular traditions
of Madrid, with regional costumes and dances, the so-called Chotis.
SEPTEMBER:
During September the concert-houses and theaters have their best performances,
while in November you may visit Madrid's International Jazz-Festival.
At the same time there are also the traditional Fiestas de la Almudena.
In December there is an exposition of Christmas cribs at Plaza Mayor.

31 San Silvestre popular
31 New Year Eve, Up to 40 millions of people flock together at Puerta
del Sol. In the rhythm of the beats of the big clock at midnight, everybody
tries to eat twelve grapes. That shall bring good luck for the coming
year, and all the Spaniards who are not there, watch the event on TV.
After midnight, all the city becomes the scenery of a great party.
This day shops are open for last buyings.
